When to take AP economics?

I'm going to be a senior in high school next year. I want to know if it would be better to take IB Economics or AP Economics. I've never taken an IB course before so I'm wondering if it would be a waste to take IB, and rather just take AP instead.

Could I get into AP Economics or AP Gov during my junior year or could I only take it in my senior year? Cause i want to take it this year because I dont have much AP's and plan on taking a bunch next year to compensate.

Can someone explain the ideas behind both and who might like it? I want to take AP Econ but not sure which one.

In addition to that, do you recommend that I get an IB diploma or aim for being an AP scholar? (and reasons if possible). thanks!!

I want to take these exams but I have like 8 hours per week to devote to that, a good background on the topic but nowhere close to taking the class and only signing up for a 5. Micro takes precedence in terms of importance to me, but I'd like to do both...
