When to take AP economics?

Can you take an AP examination for a Psychology or Economics SL IB class?

• In addition to that, do you recommend that I get an IB diploma or aim for being an AP scholar? (and reasons if possible). thanks!!

  I'm not sure how your school schedules classes, but our IB students are enrolled in some AP classes. They take the AP exams for the classes they're taking. The following comment was found on a discussion forum at college confidential.com. It's just one opinion. I'm sure you can find others if you do a search for advantages of IB diplomas: According to a Duke Admissions officer, they LOVE IB kids. Duke feels that the IB kids tend to do better in the first years of college than AP kids, as they are used to time management, extensive researching and essay writing (extended essay, anyone???) Yes, they do get some (although limited) priority over AP kids. They frown down on people who have attended schools that have offered IB, but refused to take it (as was the case with one of my friends, who did not take IB as she was worried it would bring her GPA down). But in the end, taking IB is not something that is going to make or break your chances, but they do make you stand out a little more over the other thousands of applicants.
