AP Classes for next year?
-
I have some questions regarding what classes I should take next year. First off, I am taking AP Lit, AP Calc BC, and AP US Gov next year, but that is the simple part. I want to take (in order of importance): AP European/World History (I would take one class but both tests), AP Economics (macro or micro, it doesn't matter), AP Comparative Gov, and AP Psychology. But the problem is that my school only offers a normal World History class and AP Psychology, and I could take AP Euro at a nearby high school. I want to take at least 2 more AP's, maybe 3;So I have a couple questions 1. Which class AP Comparative Gov or AP Economy would be easier to take on my own (I might be able to get a teacher to help me on AP Comp Gov, but I doubt it) 2. And Which would be the most sensible to take, keep in mind Comp Gov/Econ would be on my own, while Euro/World History would be at different high school (most likely), and while Psych would the easiest to take because there is a teacher at my school who teaches it, the desire to take it is significantly lower than the other 4 3. If I were to take AP Comp Gov or AP Econ (either macro or micro), if you could, can you recommend the book I should buy for either class thanks

Answer:
As an AP student myself, you most certainly have quite a workload before you. On your own, it would be much easier to take AP Comp Gov. as AP Econ (as I have heard) is one of the most difficult AP tests. If you do decide to take one of these, I would suggest you not only purchase the Barron's guide, but also the Five Steps to the Five and possibly the Princeton Review. I would not, however, recommend taking either AP Euro or AP World AND take both AP tests. We were allowed to pick one or the other and I was rather grateful for that. I am currently enrolled in AP Euro and I have friends in both classes and they are significantly different. Personally, with the other APs you wish to take, I would take AP Euro as it seems to be a bit easier. AP Psychology is a fairly easy AP test (I took it and made a four after doing minimal studying) and I could see you learning that on your own if you did not take it through school. If you need any other advice I would be more than willing to help you.

1. Probably Economics. There is not much material for either test. Just studying a Barron's book for each would suffice. 2. Well, Psychology is an extremely easy class and test. Which class you should take depends on whether or not you can a get an A in the class and your desire to take it. Only you can decide. 3. Barron's
