Why does my cursor jump around?

Im using XP on a netbook. The cursor just randomly jumps around. It deletes whole sentences at a time too

My cursor keeps returning to the middle of previous sentences and sometimes even highlights text. I am using a MacBook with v10.5.8 software. I am 100% sure i did not touch the touchpad while typing. I typed letter by letter while staring at the keyboard...

The cursor repositions itself without any order or purpose. It's random, but only when the letter "t" is pressed. Maddening! Any thoughts why and what (other than taking it back to the shop) can be done about it?
