Are all GED tests the same in every state?

I bought a book online and it is a book that is supposed to help prepare me for the GED test, but I'm wondering if all GED tests in the US are the same? For instance it is telling me how many questions are on the test and how much time you get for each section of the test. I don't want to be studding this 700pg book for no reason. Lol.
