Can you be a nurse in the state of California using your GED?

I need some information on this question? I want to become a nurse but I' am not sure if i can become one in the state of California if i get my GED. I' am now living in the state of Texas and i know that i can study nursing here. I once read that i can only get my LPN license's with my GED. But i' am not so sure if i can do the same in California in anyone can find me some information Please let me know. Thank You :)
