Is the GED valid in any state in the US?

Taking GED in different state?

I'm currently staying with close friends in Illinois. In a month or so I will have to go back to Virginia, to my mom and take the GED. (I'm 16.) I was wondering if there was a way I could take it here in Illinois so I didn't have to spend money for the train tickets there and then back again. Would legal documents (Social Security, ID, ect,.) and verbal comforfation via phone from my mother be enough to do the testing here instead of going back and forth on trains. Also don't bother asking why I'm getting the GED or how I shouldn't. You do not know the situation.

You can always go to the local community collage that does GED testing and tell them the situation and see what they have to say about it, it varies in every state so go ask! And good luck getting your GED :) I am gonna take mine soon to and i am really nervous :\
