Is it possible to get mono twice?

I had it a year ago, and I am feeling similar symptoms... Is it like chicken pox, where you get it once (and then maybe later as an older adult as shingles) or is it like the flu, where it comes and goes through out your life?

My daughter had mono last year. She just got over another case of it last month. I thought that mono was something you only got once. I also thought that it was "the kissing disease". I'm confused.
