Is it possible to get mono twice?

Is it possible to get mono more than once?

• I had mono two years ago and recently i got sick with the same symptoms; fever, extreme fatigue, and swollen glands in my throat and neck. I went to the doctors and they gave me a strep culture test which came back negative..then they took blood to test for mono and it came back positive. I know that once you have mono it always stays in your system, but ive also heard that once you have it you cant have it again kind of like the chicken pox, sooo can it even be possible that i have it again??

  After exhibiting the symptoms of mono when firstly acquired, although the majority of those who got infected have re-curring activated virus throughout their life , and hence infectious at these times, do not exhibit the symptoms again. A very small minority will show some symptoms of it , most notably glandular fever. This is quite uncommon. But it happens. And it sucks as you already know what it was like to have the symptoms I am very sorry but from experience , you might probably know how to make yourself most comfortable in dealing and putting up with the disease. In short form, yes I can happen again. I am very sorry it happens to you twice.
