Is it possible to get the newest version of MSN on an imac?

All my friends have got the MSN version where you can change the colour of your display name where I am stuck with the old version. How do I get the described version?

My room is about 100Ft away from my router plus theirs like a couple of walls blocking signal. If I get an imac and put it in my room. would I be able get signal on my imac, and work pretty fast? I have att U-verse and I have the att U-verse router.
