Why is YM not working properly?

I have a bold 9780 and when I looked at IM there is no YM installed originally. So I installed it from BB AppWorld. But I cannot use it as it says YM is not supported on this handset. While other IM are working fine i.e. Windows Messenger.

Ok, so yesterday, while I was supposedly having a voice convo in ym, I noticed my built-in mic didnt work. But when I tried configuring it in the system preferences, it responded....how come it's not working for my ym? Can anyone help me figure this...

My mic is not working while im using YM for PC-PC Voip although i can clearly hear the voice of the other person. My laptop is running in Vista. I am currently in UAE. i am desperate since YM is the cheapest way to connect to my family back home.
