What paint do you use on clay?

I've made a model out of self drying clay, you know the tough grey clay you add a little bit of water to and then shape it. It's going to be dry soon, so I'm just wondering what paint is best to use to paint it. Price isn't an issue. Ty

I used a simple clay that just needs to air dry. I bought a black acrylic paint and when i went to check it out a few days later it peeled off not leaving anything behind. Just curious bc a lot of ppl recommended acrylic
