What happens (after many years) when deliquent accounts are no longer reported to credit report? better score?

A few deliquent accounts were set to stop being reported to my credit report early this year. I haven't checked yet, but I have been received credit card offers and one of them mentioned somethign about congratulations on my dilligence in my improved credit. Just a coincidence?
