I bought 2 new butyl truck tubes with the intentions of going down a river in them. I done this years ago, and I remember I had to wash the tubes because they had some sort of whitish coating on them that left a black rubbery residue on your skin. I just scrubbed them in the bathtub with dish soap and the rough side of the dish sponge and rinsed them with hot water. This helped, but did not completely clean them. Does anyone have any suggestions?
