Why Do Cinema Screens Curve?

How do they get cinema screens into the cinema ? .. Theyre so big .. so do they build around them or do the screens come in peices lol ? Thanks in advance SlimShayD

Like a long time ago, like in WOII didnt they used to play all sorts of documentaries news items and that sort of thing in the cinema. Why dont they do that anymore. Dont they nowadays have the technology to project a film on a glass building at night...
