Are there effective anti-glare screens?

I notice my eyes tend to get tired quickly from computer use. I was wondering if any uses antiglare screens. And if they help the eye strain any. Is there any difference between this and just adjusting the contrast? Also a recommendation on amazon.com...

Glossy is standard, antiglare (matte) is a $150 option.  What are advantages/disadvantages of each?
