Are there effective anti-glare screens?

What is the best (most effective) way to clean house window screens of dust, insects, cobwebs, etc.?

  • screens exist to keep insects and larger particulates out of homes that open windows for ventilation, cooling, etc. However, like all , they collect the materials they're supposed to filter - how best to clean them of the detritus they collect?

    Here's the various ways I can think of. I don't know what the most effective way is, but my money is on the garden hose. Hose the whole thing down with a garden hose with a fairly high-pressure nozzle; you probably want to take the screens out of the window and put them down on something like a concrete patio or driveway Suck the dust off with a vacuum cleaner Blow the dust off with a leaf blower or compressed air Wipe the dust off with a wet rag Wipe the dust off with a dry microfiber rag

Sara: The first and easiest thing to try would be to simply remove them and them clean them with a hose. Like Japp Weel (who answer ealier) said รข€“a hose with a fairly high pressure nozzle. The higher water pressure will help make it easier to clean out or off all the dust, insects and webs. I learned this simple way of cleaning from a local company that replaced my windows before. The easiest way to get your windows clean is to put plenty of vinegar in the water, the vinegar cuts through the grease and grime and using news paper to dry them and leaves them smear free, also never clean the windows when the sun is shinning on them as then you cant see any smears you have left until the window has dried and the sun has gone. Another way is to put Amonia and water in a spray bottle for hit inside and a bucket with same mixture and a squeegee on the outside. Then again, use newspaper to dry them and leaves them smear free. Your mixture should be like 2 or 3 cups amonia to 1 gallon of water it will smell very strong.
