Where to stay in Paris, France?

please help. i have a 6 month long stay visa. i am based in Paris and my visa expires on the 20th of February 2008. Where do i go and what do i need to extend it? thanks

I am planning to go to France but I do not know how long to stay for, (less than a week!). I want to visit only the main attractions but all I can think of is the Eiffel Tower.
