    I have only visited Paris in the winter and it was fabulous both times. Once we just stayed in the city and went to the museums; the other time we went to Versailles for a day and then took a train to Loire Valley and then returned to Paris. It has sooo much to offer and the hot chocolat at Angelina's is well worth a winter journey!!! The cafes, the museums, the architecture, the Eiffel Tower, the carousel, etc. I stayed at Hotel L'Odeon and it was fabulous!!!! http://www.hotelparisodeonsaintgermain.com/

You should definitely go to L'Auberge Nicolas Flamel, it was built by the alchemist N. Flamel in 1406 and has been operating as a restaurant non-stop for 600 years, and has all kinds of arcane symbols and prayers carved into the stone. They will even take you into the wine cellar where Mr. Flamel performed his alchemical work. http://www.auberge-nicolas-flamel.fr/ Also go to the Louvre at night, it's open late two nights a week (Wednesday and Friday, I think). It's a completely different, magical experience in the dark (even though it will be cold, I promise it's worth it!). I'm partial to the cemeteries, tons of beautiful graves and very evocative in the wintertime. The catacombs are awesome, too!
