How do you search for shopping online?

Our electronic retail store offers some of the lowest prices for the products that we carry. We also recently started implementing changes to improve our SERP. We are seeing positive results and some of our products are now ranked on the first pages...

Sorry about shouting. But my MY.Yahoo page has the WEB SEARCH bar...but no choices to sort from. My neighbor gives choice of Images, Video, Local, Shopping etc. How do I get that on mine?

Google is currently the best at search*, but any product search returns dozens of pages of usually unrelated and oftentimes spammy items for sale. Why? *for one example, see: Why did Google become so successful?

do you start your shopping on a retail site by searching on a product name OR by browsing through product categories?

Among my friends, most of them seem to use Google Shopping and simply sort by price. If this is the case in general, SEO for shops is quite pointless since a low price (and perhaps a reasonably good reputation as well) is all that is needed.

For example, I searched for a discontinued flashlight (Surefire L5) and about 15 of the first 20 results were links to selling sites. It even happens if I add the word "review" to the search, because the selling sites have "reviews."...

I want a "plain ole" search.

Ex: lowest prices: rice paper/match stick blinds/aka shoji blinds. Shopping/and reg. search engines repeat results and/or sell the first search results. Is there a site where perhaps there are several good drop down lists so that one could narrow their...
