  You basically can't. (OTHER THAN SHOUTING WITH CAPITALS) The special characters you see are either typed somewhere else or entered using the character map or special keyboard features of Windows. For example, degree symbol ° can be entered by holding down Alt key and typing 248 on the keypad and then letting go. But there is no guarantee that these will show up to readers in the same form - depends on what font they are using.
