How important it is to have an LCD TV with 100hz?

100hz lcd tv doesnt refresh fast enough when watching football any ideas like better quality leads etc?

  • i have just bought a new 32" lcd samsung 100 hz tv, when watching football etc you get a slow refresh rate and a flicker behind the ball when they shoot" this is on sky+" is there anything i can do to sort this out, tv is fine but this is hard to watch is it worth upgrading the quality of the scarts etc cant see how this can vastly improve the refresh as a 100hz should have an extra frame... any clues

  • Answer:

Hmmm.... besides replacing it with a Pioneer Elite or Pro plasma set, I don't have any idea. Maybe a Sony Bravia LCD, perhaps. Despite what many of the uninformed on here say, Samsung is not all it's purported to be. Both Sony and Pioneer have significantly better picture processors.

USE HDMI 1.3a Cables for delivering your signal to the TV set.... For your Sky + box, set it to 1080 Video output in the box's menu.... That's all you should NEED to do....but you can contact Samsung if you still have problems, they can make sure that the rest of your menu settings are correct. Mr Peachy is correct in the fact that Sony does have higher-end processors and they use the 120 Hz Motion flow processors.... Nice Update on that Avatar....I think I need to find more Taz pics with him playing with electrical stuff....
