Ways to burn calories without building muscle?

I am looking to burn calories without gaining ANY muscle. I'm actually trying to lose muscle, as well as fat. I played lacrosse and soccer for 13 years, so my body is very good at building muscle, even when I'm eating calories below my BMR every day. I've tried walking and bike riding, and have seen unwanted muscle gains in my legs. The reason I'm trying to lose muscle as well as fat, is because I have developed knee and lower back problems because of the excess weight. My peak weight was 210 pounds, and right now I'm at 165 pounds. I know that might seem skinny, but I still have fat I would like to lose and muscle that I just don't need anymore in my legs. Any suggestions would be awesome!!! Thanks!

Best way to do that is low-calorie diet and cardio nonstop. 3 cardio a day, 20 minute sessions. once in morning, once before lunch, and one in evening. That combined with a low-cal diet will make you lose SO quick. I'm in the process of a 6 month body transformation, I'm at month 4. to be honest, anything that is pure cardio, such as long walks. I'm really surprised walking makes you gain weight lol. Have you tried swimming, yoga, other things like that? Ultimately, if the problem is the exess weight, then clearly your diet is as, if not more important. Can you lower the calorie intake..? hmm...Tai Chi? Gentle Dance? the body usually works out of neccessity, if your condition really means you need to lose weight, it should sort of happen. From a general change in lifestyle. trust the body!
