Psychology and Psychiatiric Nursing?
-
I am currently a senior in college and will be receiveing a BA in psychology and a BS in health sciences. I want to do psychiatric nursing once finished with college. Is it pointless to go to grad school for psychology prior to going to nursing school, or would a MA is psychology be useful with salary increases and job flexibility for psychiatiric nursing?
-
Answer:
It would be useless. Go to nursing school first. For nurses, what matters first is your experience, since you won't be recieving your BSN, definitely nursing school. You can then after some work experience think about master's or NPs.
