What can I do about my toe spasming?

My toe is repeatedly spasming?

  • I haven't had much sleep (probably about 6hrs in the last week or so) and I'm a teenager, so I don't know if that could cause it? It's my right foot and it feels like something in the arch of my foot starts it, and jerks a wire or something that's connected to my big toe. It's extremely annoying, and happens frequently (sometimes multiple times a minute) but not at a consistent basis. What could be causing this?

  • Answer:

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me on the train tonight so I googled what it could be and found your question - actually had to stay on the train til it passed and missed my stop! It's like the worst charlie-horse ever, and just like you mine started in the arch of my foot and the second toe just stood straight up above the others. It was so sudden, but I had boots on and had been walking all day so I wonder if that's what caused it. I took my boot off and massaged it as much as I could - it would subside and then pop up again a minute later. It's maybe the 3rd time I've experienced this, but I think its just from putting stress on the foot. It's fine now, hours later.
