Have you ever heard of a trick knee? This might be what you have going on with your ankle. It is not normal for this to happen. I had a trick knee has a kid and we found out it was caused by calcium deposits. With baking treatments we got rid of the excess calcium and I have never been plagued with this problem again. Seek medical advise.
I would say not normal. I would go to the doctor and have them check you out.
