Nerd costume ideas for comedic monologue?

I'm doing a comedic monologue and I'm a 16 year old guy that is trying to get the guts to call this girl, but is scared of anything bad that can come out of it. I have chosen to be a nerd (a computer nerd)...and am using a nerdish voice. I need advice on some funny stuff to wear to make me nerdy. BUT.....I don't want to play the overdone version of a nerd...(if you know what I mean. People always play the stereotypical nerd)

we had nerd day at my high school. some kid had bought the largest underwear and wore it like he got a wedge-e. some people had large glasses (typical). Lots of pencils in hair. Large book bags. hunched over and always looking down.
