Daughter waking up in the middle of the night every night?

  • My three year old has been waking up in the middle of the night around 1:30 and wont go back to sleep for about a hour every time she asks to watch a movie when she wakes up and wants to play. i can usually get her back to sleep after a hour but then she wakes up for the day at 530 or 6 she does take one nap during the day for about a hour but i am just worried she isnt getting enough sleep and also a little tired myself.... any suggestions on how to get her to sleep threw the night again or how to get her to go back to sleep after she wakes up faster than a hour.

    Maybe you could try sending her to bed abit sooner than ushall if she goes to bed late ; or try "night nurse"

My son does the same thing. I noticed that if I put him down for his nap to late that he wouldn't sleep through the night for us and lately it seems that it doesn't matter when he takes a nap he just seems to have more energy at night. I also noticed that the one time I did put a movie on for him, so that he wouldn't wake everyone else up, he looked at that as a fun thing and so every time he would wake up in the middle of the night that is what he wanted. Now when he gets up in the middle of the night I bring him into my room and have him sleep in there, instead of heading out to the couch, etc. It's not as much fun for him and so now he is back to sleeping in his room and most of the time sleeping through the night. It took a little bit to break the habit but eventually it did break, I just had to be consistent. Good luck!
