Why doesn't my logitech remote work?

Logitech headphone/mic...headphones work but mic doesnt?

I just got my logitech extreme PC gaming headset and the headphones work but the mic doesn't...when i try to test it and record, there is not signal. I've tried hooking my brothers headset onto my computer and it works fine and I even tried hooking the headset to other computers to see if it was jsut my computer but its not....non of them pick up any signal from the headset. I am getting reall frustrated....if you have had the same problem and got it fixed, please tell me what u did but if you dont know then don't even buy a logitech headset! its horrible
