How hard is it to be a debt collector?

How to sue a debt collector?

  • Just saw my credit report. Had a debt 8 years ago that has been put on my credit report without validation, a collector that called my husband, that had nothing to do with the debt, as well as me - before even sending me a letter. Then sent me a letter stating that they thought I owed the debt maybe two weeks ago and already it is on my report. They didn't even give me 30 days to send a letter to validate their claim. Livid - how can these trolls put stuff on credit reports w/o even providing information on if it is owed or not? It is not. Therefore - I believe it is my right to sue. How do I start? Thanks in advance!

  • Answer:

It is not worth the time or energy. Go to all three reporting agencies and file a dispute. They will remove the negative report.

Good luck on that one. Sue for what? Dispute the entry on your credit report, it will be taken off if they cannot validate it, and move on with your life.
