Tax lien on my credit report?
-
I had a tax lien that I was completely unaware of and was pretty sure was a mistake. I called the collectors office and they said that tax lien was already paid. Even though I'm pretty sure the tax lien is not rightfully mine, since its paid shouldn't it be off my credit report?

Answer:
You should dispute it in order to get it removed sooner than the 7 years that someone mentioned in their comment.
