How to retrieve Install Statistics from the Google Developer's Console?

Will Facebook/LinkedIn/Google+ open up their APIs to the developers to do more with their Groups/Communities?

• Groups and communities are not one of the priorities in either of the social networks. Hence, there isn't any cool stuff happening around 'groups'. Wouldn't it be great if these giants open up their APIs, give power to the developers to build apps, that help people, interact better? For instance, business developers/sales people use LinkedIn groups for marketing. If developers were allowed to build tools that enhance, the power of buyers and sellers, I think it would be great! I can already visualize Google+'s communities to do better than communities on Facebook/LinkedIn because of Google+ hangout. But there are endless possibilities. I would like to have answers from people who are working on communities/groups on Facebook/LinkedIn/Google+. What do you guys think?

  Part of the reason why many users I communicate with on choose to use it over is the superior filtering options. I left Facebook because of the content bloat, more than anything. Having little control over how much "stuff" makes it into one's stream negatively impacted the experience. But even if I didn't have great filters, that third party apps were allowed access to the API enabled them to flood people with useless information from games and other services. , VP Product, Google+, has shown the team to be very adamant about not just opening it up to anyone. They've been testing for a long time with specific companies to see what works and doesn't. I for one am willing to wait, and let them get it right. We don't need another Facebook, and I don't need another social network to quit. I'm playing for keeps with this one.
