How to insert footnotes?

How to put different footnotes on each page?

  • Please do not tell me to go to insert / footnote ... blah, blah. That does NOT work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That puts the SAME footnotes in each and every page.

  • Answer:

If you are entering text in the footer that text will repeat on every page unless there is a section break and the new section footer and header are unlinked from the previous section. This is how footnotes are created and inserted into Word documents in Word 2007. To enter footnotes, click in the document beside the word or phrase that you want to create a footnote for. Click on the Reference tab, Insert footnote. I know that you didn't want to hear that but that is how it is done. A small number will be automatically generated for the footnote and will be inserted into the text at the cursor and the cursor will then drop to just above the footer where you enter the text for the footnote. The footnote will stay on the same page as the text being referenced. The numbers for the footnotes are consecutive. If you right click on the footnote, and click on Note Options, there are many options for the customization of the footnotes.
