Why am i retaining water weight and how do i lose it again?

i have gained 3 kilos in water weight in 4 days! i heard that the more water you intake, the more you excrete along with all the bad stuff. but instead, all the water that i have drank is mostly stored in my body. so what can i do to lose all this extra water weight and why is this happening? please do not answer if you are gonna tell me to drink more. notes: i have always maintained a healthy lifestyle.

I highly doubt it's water weight. Water doesn't affect long-term weight because it's not stored in your body like fat is stored. If you drink more than your body needs, it is filtered out relatively quickly and you urinate more. It is probably muscle and/or fat. Fortunately, if you eat well and exercise, it is probably muscle gain (muscle weighs more than fat).

Green tea will help you get rid of excess water. You can lose up to 5 pounds of water weight though it will come and go as water isn't stored in the body for long as the poster above me emphasized.

If you're drinking lots of water and being healthy...that may not be water weight. Also, prescription drugs and/or stress may be the cause.
