Yahoo wont let me add a msn contact!?

I tried to add a msn contact to my yahoo messenger...but wasnt able to. Instead it said i could sent email only to this contact only! Bummer! I want to instant messenger this contact using yahoo..any ideas? I also was unable to add this contact to my msn messenger

you're not wrong about adding microsoft contacts... don't give up you're on the right track :) a quick run down on what is required to start adding your microsoft contacts... you, on yahoo messenger, need to be using Yahoo Messenger version 8 your friends, on the microsoft network, need to using Windows Live Messenger i "think" the partners program is now out of beta... yahoo messenger users have/had to signup at... http://messenger.yahoo.com/partners_msn.php WLM users at http://ideas.live.com/ the yahoo page now redirects to the default "add user" instructions so either it's no longer applicable or the program has been temporarily closed... as has happend in the past :) I don't have a Yahoo! ID not associated with adding WLM users so I can't check if Windows Live (MSN) is a network drop down option for those who hadn't signed up for the program previously. perhaps another Yahoo Messenger v8 users who never signed up at http://messenger.yahoo.com/partners_msn.php can help you out with that one :) under version 8, when you add a contact, you simply select from the drop down network menu Windows Live (MSN) and then enter their full microsoft passport account email address.. but they do have to be running Windows Live Messenger, you are not able to IM with MSN Messenger users :) I added more Microsoft friends to my yahoo messenger friends list today and it went perfectly, as it has done for the last week or so... so it is possible and is still a feature :)
