Where do all of my downloads go?

I have a HTC tilt 2 and i downloaded some videos using Opera. When I wanted to delete them as they took up too much storage, there are no where to be found. I check the settings and downloads on Opera, and it just says "no active downloads"...

when you download a program or application onto your computer, where does it go? i mean how can i check where its been downloaded to and do i have an option to choose? basically how do i get to that?
