What to do in Philly for a day?

Hey, I'm trying to plan my New Year's eve and New Year's day, and I'm wondering what Philly does. First night or anything? I'm going to the Mummer's Parade, but are there other things to do?

Also, I am taking a bus back from New York to Philly Monday, any time suggestions? I know I'll hit traffic no matter what time. But what's my best bet...
