Is it possible to make my Xbox 360 elite get the e-74 or RROD?

My xbox is out of warranty. Just letting you know it is the elite system. 120 gig HD and yea i had bought it in january of 09. if that helps. now it is out of warranty and the xbox wont read any disks. it was a growing problem but i just never bothered to get it fixed. now it is out of warranty and it wont read ANY disks.. would it be possible for me to give my elite the e-74 or RROD? i am willing to overheat it, open it. anything to give it one of these considering it is still under 3 year warranty...
