Chorus NTL or Sky Digital?

About NTL/Sky in Dublin, Ireland.....?

  • Can anybody tell me which is best? Chorus NTL or Sky for the Dublin, Ireland area - Can I keep the NTL Broadband which is good and also leave them and go to SKY for television? Ta! LOL

    I'd say give Sky a go - they're a bit more expensive than Chorus NTL but you're getting what you pay for. NTL are the biggest shower of knob-ends you could possibly get and their customer service is terrible. If you got their Broadband(which I have and to be fair it's decent), they will probably contractually block you from getting SKY television so I wouldn't mix and match. Go for Sky for everything or NTL for everything. Best of luck with it!

I used to have NTL, now I have Sky. NTL is all well and good, until you have a problem, then they are absolutely rubbish. No customer service to mention, they still bill you for the full amount, even if your on the phone to them constantly (mostly waiting for someone to pick up), to tell them your connection is down. I would only ever go back to NTL if it were free. I've never had a problem with Sky. You can still have your broad band with who ever you want, there are plenty more players in the market than just NTL or eircom, so look around.

think about getting a free view dish, a lot of the channels that are on sky are free view and when you buy a free view dish you don't need to pay any money every month after that you can see a list of the channels you can get on this site http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html if you can fit the dish or know some one that can it will only cost between 100 and 200 euro and you don't pay anything after that

personally prefer skybox, i have ntl broadband too, once you're not under a timed contract for the digital tv with ntl you can leave anytime and join sky.
