My employer refuse to pay for my holiday?

CAN MY EMPLOYERS REFUSE TO PAY HOLIDAY PAY IF I LEAVE AS THEY SAY THAT THE HOLIDAY I HAVE ACCRUED IS FOR 2009?

  • I AM LEAVING MY JOB ON 14TH NOV AND MY EMPLOYERS STATE THAT ANY HOLIDAY I HAVE ACCRUED SINCE 16TH AUGUST IS FOR 2009 ENTITLEMENT THEY WILL NOT PAY THIS HOLIDAY WHEN I LEAVE BECAUSE THEY SAY I HAVE TO BE EMPLOYED IN 2009 TO RECEIVE ANY HOLIDAY I HAVE ACCRUED OR TO RECEIVE THIS AS PAYMENT WHEN I LEAVE

    You will have to look in your employee handbook or your company's policy and procedure manual to find out what it states about accrued leave.

I still think you should have accrued holiday pay from August to November but check the ACAS web site http://www.acas.co.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=312&p=0 for further info.
