How do you get an uploaded picture as your avatar?

Another custom picture/avatar question..?

  • So, I have followed all advice on how to make a custom picture - and use it as my avatar. I uploaded two pictures to my 360, and tried setting each as my avatar (separately at different times), and there has been no luck. I even cropped the images using an online site/program (pixenate.com) and used those cropped images - and now there seems to be a box with my username on it for an avatar. What could I be doing wrong? The pictures are in .JPG format... I don't see why there should be a problem. My pictures show up on 360.. somehow it just doesn't transfer over to my Y!A avatar. Could there be something I am overlooking? Is there a way I can report this to Y!A staff - and get results? I get the feeling that Y!A is very ill-staffed.

  • Answer:

Ugh, I'm sorry this is such a pain for you. :( When I changed mine I tried several different pictures and they changed immediately. What could be happening is an avatar "ghost" problem I've been reading about. Apparently Yahoo is aware of the problem and are working on it... *cough*... I would keep searching in the Help link (teeny tiny link, upper right-hand corner).
