Has anyone you know of ever had an account suspended for over a year, and then had the account reinstated?

Well, I still use the email tied to two suspended accounts. Every now and then I'll still be logged in, habitually go to Y!A, and then get the oops page. I have clicked the appeal link on the opps page a couple of times to beg for reinstatement over the years -- to no avail. I think if this happens, the person just happened to catch a Y!A staffer in a generous mood. Maybe I'll try again. I mean, I've been otherwise good in these two years since those suspensions.

This could clearly never happen. There had to be a reason that the first reinstatement appeal was declined, and whatever that reason was would still stand years later. Y!A is not in the habit of just reinstating accounts for no reason, so it is unreasonable to think that an old account from years ago would be reinstated for any reason at all.

i've never heard of that happening. "Suspended" implies that you will get it back at some point, like if a kid gets suspended from school he goes back eventually...but i've had numerous accounts suspended and i've never gotten a single one back.
