How do I get stars here in yahoo answers?

  • What is the deal with the stars in answers, what is the purpose / signifignance and how do you get them? Can someone please give the details? Like what good are they once you get them and is there a use for them once you have them? I keep seeing that a certain person 'starred' but no idea what that is or how its done.

    When someone stars your question - they are merely book marking it - a.k.a. favorites; notice you can unmark it at will at any future date - there is a way to review "stared questions" from your profile page. So I suppose when you get noticed that your question has been "stared" - you might consider it a pat on the back. I would bet that the yahoo site uses them for other purposes as well - displaying results to searches, most stars first - or which questions draw the largest respect of the community.
