How do I apply false eyelashes?

FALSE EYELASHES :: How many of you wear false eyelashes on a day to day basis...? I need your help?

  • I am a chemo patient and have just about lost all my eyelashes....what should I look for (style) and how do I make them not look like false eyelashes....LOL....

  • Answer:

Here, look at this picture. It's a few styles of false lashes: http://lushlashes.com/im/andreaall.jpg #62, 53, and 70 look the most natural. The ones that simply stick out are great. I find that criss-cross lashes don't look as natural. Try to find ones that have less hair on the inner corners of the eyes than the outer. It looks more natural. Also, check the length of the lashes. Make sure they're not too long. Look for lashes that are longer than the length of your eyes (or the same length) so you can cut it to adjust it to the length of your eyes. Since you lost all your lashes, I wouldn't suggest buying shorter lashes, because it will look fake to have all your hair on one side of your eyes and nothing on the other. Oh, and look for real human hair. It's the most natural looking. (: Another type of eyelash you might want to look into is the individual ones. They have individual hairs that you can glue onto yourself according to your liking. It'll take a LOT of time and energy, but it'll look great in the end if you do it right. Since you're going to glue your lashes in, you might want to use different colored glue. Clear/white glue works great and is extremely versatile. If you're wearing black eyeliner, though, you might want to buy darker glue, so it blends in with the eyeliner, which I will talk about next. False lashes usually come in black, since it fits almost everyone. To blend it into your skin, I think you should get a pencil liner in black. The other colors don't look as great, especially if you have black lashes and brown eyeliner.. oh dear.. Anyhow, use the pencil liner to line your inner water lines (top and bottom). If you don't know what that is, look here: http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb273/nessasarymakeup/tightline3.jpg It might seem a little freaky, but that's the most natural way to line eyes that I've found. You should also try to line your upper and lower lashlines (the outsides of your eyes) to help blend the ends of the false lashes in. When you put on your false lashes, you should curl them. It'll not only make your eyes look more awake, it'll look more natural. Some companies for false lashes that I recommend are Ardell and Red Cherry. Ardell may be found in most drugstores and cost around $4-$6. Red Cherry can be found online and most of the lashes are $1.50. I recommend DUO adhesive glue (they have different colors) which can be found in drugstores as well. I really hope this helps! Good luck, and I hope you feel better!(:

hey, you can get strip lashes that last for the day they are gonna appear fake as you will see the strip as you have no existing lashes. id advice you use individual lashes and get a beauty herapist to show you how to apply them id advice these as they last from anything from a week to 3 weeks depending on glue and application . as they are applies as close to where your eyelashes were this will look natural. they are not costly at a salon and you can buy your own to add ones that fall off back on . you will be able to get them in a range of coloures and lengths and can choose whether they are really curly or a natural kink good luck

I don't on a regular basis just when I feel like doing some super retro glam *which is often but not day to day* the easiest way to apply them is to get the Walgreen's ones * I say those ones so you can cut them in half and put them on that way I would cry having cut ones up from Sephora* you cut them in half and apply the glue to the back and put them on in sections , next when the glue is dry you put mascara on them so they look like you have long lashes so it just looks like you have mascara on not falsies(you have to practice putting them on a couple of times when you first do it I took me an hour my first time to put them on properly ) . *aww I'm sorry I hope you get better*
