What hormone is the highest amount at the time of ovulation?

Can the amount of time you hold your urine mess up Ovulation test results?

  • I have overactive bladder, and cannot hold my urine for 4 hrs like the test suggests. I also take a thyriod med. have been taking the OP test for 10 days now, during this time I "should" be ovulating, but have gotten all Neg. results, and I'm taking 2 tests each day. I'm confused if these things are messing up the results, or if i dont ovulate?? I have a regular period

  • Answer:

If you do not have enough of the ovulation hormone in your urine, the test can be inaccurate. So, if it says 4 hours, and you can't hold it that long, it probably is not accurate. Since you have a regular cycle, you can try monitoring the old fashioned way by checking your cervical mucous. About four days or so before ovulation your CM will begin to get thin, clear and stretchy. The stretchier it is, the closest to egg white consistency, the closer you are to ovulation. Ovulation (in a perfect world) occurs 14 days BEFORE a period. Most fertile time is from 2 days before ovulation through up to 24 hours after. Baby dance every day from three days before ovulation through 2 days after and you should hit that window. The rest of course is up to mother nature.
