What to charge for private home care?

Do home daycares charge more for pro-D or summer care?

  • I am wondering if daycares that normally take care of school aged children charge more for spring break, pro-d days or for summer care when the kid is there all day?

  • Answer:

Charge more, as in more than another family whose children are in care for the same amount of time? I don't . Full time is 35-50 hours. They get a set rate for that amount of hours per week. The difference would be in having a "part time" slot, which costs one price, and having a "full time" slot which costs more. Excuse my ignorance, but what is pro D? **Oh, okay. Our schools call that a "Teacher Work Day".....which is kinda silly. Don't they work every day?;-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Absolutely WOULD charge more in that case. I would charge that family whatever my full time rate was for other families. if you don't have a full time rate in effect yet, make one. Explain to the parents,"This will be how much I charge for full time crae...." I think every parent would expect to pay more money for more hours of childcare. The daycare centers I've worked at do it this way too.
