About how much does a dragonfly weigh?

(For teens 11-16) How much do you weigh?

  • I'm 13, 5 foot, three inches, and I weigh 148-150lbs. I've always been on the heavy side. I don't get to excersise as much as I used too when I was homeschooled. I only get to go on the weekends. I also tend to eat more calories then I am able to burn off (hey, doesn't everyone?) I asked my doctor this: How much should a young woman weigh if she was 13, 5'3"? The doctor's reply: Someone who's 13 and around that height (5'2"-5'6") should weigh between 110lbs-130lbs. Now I've seen girls my age who are stick thin. Probably underweight. So many teens make fun of people who are "fat" I know, people used to call me that at school. But I'm not "fat" I'm overweight. Just because I stood out, they said something that I wasn't. Wouldn't they know that being obese AND underweight are both bad for your health? I guess not. Anyway, how much do you weigh? Again, I'm just curios.

  • Answer:

ahhh... My sister is 13 and she is 5'1 and she weighs about 145. She is overweight. But, I mean, I know kids are harsh to her, and she has a low self esteem. But as long as you have confidence like yours, no one can put you down. I am 20 and I weigh about 135... But Hey if God gave you curves... got to work with them, and if you want to get skinnier, there are support programs.. my sister is involved in sparkteens.com. Personally, I think that everyone comes in different shapes & sizes. We don't all have to be a size 0. I was at the mall, this thanksgiving weekend and I noticed that there was a negative size 1. Can you believe what society has come to??? I think that one day, we will all realize that curves are better than stick bones.

my weight is always changing. I'm 14 and 5 ft 5.5 - 6 in. I used to be on the heavier side too [definately nothing wrong with being a little heavy! I would rather be heavy then sickly skinny] and I used to weigh 140-145 and now I weigh 125-130. but if you think about it, weight is really only a number. if youre comfortable with how you LOOK and FEEL then nothing else matters.

Gummy.

I'm guy..and I weigh 125, I'm 14yrs old. I really have no idea why people see overweight as the ONLY bad issue..Your right, being underweight is another health issue. In my opinion though, I think being underweight is way worse than being a little overweight...At least when your overweight, you still have nutrients. It used to be said that the bigger a person is, shows their wealth..because it shows that they eat alot, and therefore must have money...Skinny people were thought of as poor, or unhealthy people...If only this though lasted into todays world. Be happy with your body..people who make fun of you are probably self-conscious about themselves..so find it necessary to brutalize others with mean comments to make themselves feel better.

I'm 5'9" and 140 pounds, I wouldn't worry about it though. People seem to make a huge deal about a pound or two. IMO the only real reason to worry about your weight is when it resticts you from doing something you want to do.
