How do I make my dirt bike idle longer?

How can I make "more room" on a dirt bike that is too small for me?

  • What can I do to give myself "more room" on a dirt bike that feels too small. I know that I am too tall for this dirt bike and my legs are cramped but it still has enough power for me. What adjustments/changes can I make to the machine? Thanks so much

    Easy fixes: Taller Seat Taller Bar Bend Lower Footpegs, depending on the bike many aftermarket companies make pegs that are lower and back a little which gives some extra room as well. Bar risers Tougher changes: Subframe modifications Tank and seat risers (these may have to be made by a metal shop, they are common for XR50's but not so much with bigger bikes.) Although this wont make the bike more roomy, suspension mods will really help the handling of the bike, they can be expensive but it will feel like a totally different bike for sure. The easiest things to do would be the suspension. You should be able to get longer forks and back shocks. Depending on the size of the rims you should be able to get larger diameter rims and bigger tires too. Maybe a wider set of handlebars will help. Keep in mind that things like cables and brake lines may need to be lengthened also.

Take it to a shop that has a frame stretcher. Or buy a bigger bike.

All the above suggestions are good but very hassly and can be costly if you cant do it. Its obviously time to upgrade...what bike are we talking about?
