How do you iron on dark t-shirt transfer paper?

Iron on transfer paper?

  • Im wanting to use transfer paper to design an object on my jacket. I have no idea how to use iron on transfer paper, and i dont even know if i can use the paper on a jacket. Can anybody help me? Thanx alot!

    If you jacket is any kind of cotton based fabric the technique will work. The most important thing about the jacket is that it has to be a smooth fabric that can take high heat. Check in your local arts & crafts store for printer iron-on transfer paper. (The package should list recommended fabrics) Once you have your design (scan it if it isn't digital), reverse the design in the computer, print it on the transfer paper (be sure to print it on the correct side of the paper) and follow instructions for ironing on the design. The important thing to remember is that the iron-on process will put a mirror image of your design on the garment. That's why you have to reverse the image in the computer prior to printing on the transfer paper.

Usually the package will let you know....when I did it the directions were to put down a plain white pillowcase and then lay down the garment you were ironing on....and iron evenly...but you have to make sure the material is able to be ironed...soooo no pleather....or leather or anything like that.... cotton...possible jean yes..>It's not too hard if you follow the directions surprisingly...I thought i would mess it up majorly but i made several shirts/sweatshirts that look like they were done by a shop tha tspecializes in it....remember too if you are putting words on it you have to use word art or something to make the words back wards so they will appear right after ironing.....good luck

Easy...choose a pic that you like in photoshop, buy the transfer paper at Office depot or printing shops and just print it on the transfer paper.
