Transfer Paper- Art project?

• Hi, I wanted to do a couple of portraits for 2 friends, their birthdays are coming up in a month... So I've used carbon paper to transfer a drawn paper (original) to the canvas That teacher had access to that sort of paper she saved from who knows when I want to do the same thing, will transfer paper do the same job? Also, I plan to put letters on the finished paintings, so can I repeat the same procedure on top of the dry paint? Thanks so much!

  You can make your own transfer paper by scribbling with any kind of carbon medium (pencil or charcoal) or use chalk on the back of a piece of paper. The chalk can be erased later.
